Homes in these Las Vegas distinctive neighborhoods are usually sprawling ranch-style with grass yards shaded by mature landscaping. These neighborhoods are marked by eclectic architecture. Some homes are so unique that they had nicknamed over the years. Residents here are often contemptuous of the new master-planned communities. They see them as “Lego Land” with two and three-story homes all looking alike and built on postage-sized lots. That is probably an oversimplification, but much is to be said for the character of many of these central communities and the homes in them.

Below is a showcase of some of the currently listed properties in Las Vegas distinctive neighborhoods. This information is updated every 24 hours.

John S. Park Neighborhood – Centrally located community of many happy home owners just south of downtown.

Paradise Crest – One of my favorite mature neighborhoods in the Las Vegas area. It is located off Flamingo, around 3 miles east of The Strip.

Paradise Palms – Homes here are in the proximity of the National Golf Club. Most were constructed in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Has a real “Old Vegas” feel.

Sunrise Villas – Built between 1979 and 1985, they are all townhomes and located south of Desert Inn Ave. and east of Maryland Parkway.

McNeil Estates – This community is on the near west side west of Rancho and south of Charleston.

Scotch Eighties – Close in community on the west side, home to several entertainers and political figures.

Spanish Oaks – Just west of the strip, off of Sahara. Guard gated neighborhood of free standing homes with lots of common area amenities.

Las Vegas Country Club – Homes, townhomes, condos and a high-rise in a guard gated country club environment.
