Las Vegas Family Communities with Amenities

Below is information and links to more information on several larger local family oriented developments that feature extensive common area amenities. All have a defined social center in the way of a large clubhouse. Exercise rooms, pools, spas, saunas, tennis, children’s play areas and basketball courts are common features of these communities.

Los Prados – This community is in the near northwest. It features a golf course, owned by the homeowners, pools. clubhouse, restaurant, tennis courts and RV parking. Approximately 1/2 of the homes here are in age restricted areas with the rest being family oriented.

Copper Creek – Newer development on the east side of the valley. 590 homes in all built between 2004 and 2007.

Northern Terrace – Newer sub-development in the planned community of Providence. It is located in the far northwest.

Rhodes Ranch – This golf course community is located in the southwest. Larger community with extensive amenities.

Smoke Ranch – This is a somewhat older development, built between 1985 and 2003. It is in the near northwest.

Southern Terrace – Southwest development built between 2000 and 2004.

The Tides – Recorded as Cimarron Springs. Smaller community on the west side of 341 homes built between 2001 and 2005.

Tuscany – This larger community is located in the southeast in Henderson and is a sister community to Rhodes Ranch with a golf course and extensive amenities.

Desert Shores – 3,300 homes, extensive amenities including clubhouse, pool, indoor basketball, racquetball, gym, 3 lakes, lagoon style swimming and and sandy beach.

In addition to these abve Las Vegas Family Communities there are several country club communities that do offer access to many of the amenities described above, usually at an additional cost. There would include Anthem Country Club, Canyongate, MacDonald Highlands, Queensridge, Red Rock Country Club and Spanish Trail.

This is not to ignore many of the other local planned communities that cater to families such as Summerlin, Mountain’s Edge, Aliante, Southern Highlands, Green Valley Ranch, Anthem and Maderia Canyon. All these and many others do have wonderful amenities but none have a central large clubhouse that can function as a social center.
